Where it Started
Triumph Together was founded by Jack Gates in San Diego, California, in 2021 after a hospital visit with fellow Division I hockey teammates inspired him to create meaningful sports experiences for children battling pediatric cancer and other life-threatening illnesess.
Project Outrun proudly absorbed Triumph Together in March 2026 because we believe sports experiences are about more than the moment—they create momentum, inspire hope, and help carry kids on their road to recovery.
Through tickets to games, athlete meet-and-greets, and other VIP experiences, Triumph Together helps form meaningful connections between athletes and pediatric patients. We build teams. And as a team, we triumph together.
Note from the Founder:
I was fortunate enough to play a Division I sport, and through that experience I realized that taking just a few minutes out of your day can make a huge impact in a child's life. Sports are special because they give people a sense of community, hope, and, most importantly, something to believe in.
These kids are battling challenges that no one—especially a child—should ever have to face. I realized that's exactly what they need during their fight: something to look forward to, something to believe in, and to know that someone they admire is thinking about them on their toughest days.
